The Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Progam has helped more than 725,000 Florida students attend a postsecondary institution. Bright Futures awards include: Florida Academic Scholars award (FAS), Florida Medallion Scholars award (FMS), Florida Gold Seal CAPE Scholars award (GSC) and Florida Gold Seal Vocational Scholars award (GSV).

Step 2: Go to this link  and submit a completed, error- free initial Student Florida Financial Aid Application (FFAA) during your last year of high school, by graduation.

Step 3: Make the grade, earn the score...and graduate! The Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Program is created to establish a lottery-funded scholarship program to reward any Florida high school graduate who meritis recognition of high academic achievement. The graduate must enroll in a degree program, certificate program or applied technology program at an eligible Florida public or private postsecondary education institution.

Step 4: Know your responsibilities...apply, meet the requirements before graduation and throughout your college career. (Requirements are subject to change with each Florida Legislative session.)

The Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Program establishes three lottery-funded scholarships to reward Florida high school graduates for high academic achievement.

The Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Program is comprised of the following three awards:

  • Florida Academic Scholars (FAS) award including Academic Top Scholars (ATS) award
  • Florida Medallion Scholars (FMS) award
  • Florida Gold Seal Vocational Scholars (GSV) award

Please go to the Program Information below for criteria for receiving one of the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship. Bring your award notice to
the school you will be attending and make sure that school is listed on your award notice.
